Choice Desserts 2021

We’re Going Virtual — Friday, January 22nd 7pm - 8pm

This year's Choice Desserts fundraiser will be an online event with a different look, but with the same opportunity to support our community through funding abortion. 

There are 3 ticketing options available:

  • $20 - Standard registration - which includes a link* to the online event

  • $30 - Registration with featured drink recipe - includes a link* to the online event PLUS a featured drink recipe called "The Icing on the Cake," that you can make at home!

  • $40 - Registration with featured drink and desserts box - this option includes a link* to the online event, featured drink recipe for "The Icing on the Cake," AND our featured desserts box available for pick-up! This ticketing option was available only through Friday, January 15th, and is now unavailable.

This year, in addition to going virtual, the WIN Fund made the intentional decision to not solicit donations from local businesses, bakeries, and restaurants, who have already been hit so hard due to COVID-19. 

Instead, we chose to support a local business purchasing our featured desserts boxes, from a local woman-owned business and previous Choice Desserts donor, Jen's Bakery. The boxes will feature a selection of a dozen treats including a variety of cookies and bars (some themed!), and will be available for pick-up Wednesday, January 20th through the day of the event, Friday, January 22nd. Pick-up location is 5050 Timber Pkwy S #108, Fargo, ND 58104. This ticketing option is now closed as of Friday, January 15th at 9:00 p.m. - Thank you for your support! If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, you can still purchase the standard registration and featured drink recipe tickets.

By selecting this ticket option, you can support a local business, further fund abortion, and still enjoy delicious desserts at the event even as we transition to a virtual format!

Previously at our in-person event, our silent and live auctions have been a large source by which we raise funds. Because of the new structure of the virtual event, we encourage you to provide an additional donation to the event instead of taking home an auction item. And hopefully with the virtual format, you'll have some extra funds handy! 

  • Instead of purchasing two drinks at the event, donate an additional $15!

  • If you had budgeted $50 for an auction item, you can now donate that additional $50!

  • No new dress purchased? No babysitter to pay? Donate that $75 to the fund instead!

Now is the time to give to support abortion and related reproductive healthcare services. Choice Desserts funds around 1/4 of the total funds granted throughout the year by the WIN Fund. We need you to dig deep, give generously and help us raise these funds, even as we transition to a virtual event this year. The need does not go away even if we can’t meet in person.

*All registrants will receive a link to the online event via email on Friday, January 22. All drinks and dessert box registrants will receive the recipe card and pick-up instructions via email.

Join us via Zoom on Sunday at 4pm CST for a screening of Undue Burdens. This 30-minute documentary follows the Midwest Access Coalition as they provide travel, lodging, and food to people seeking abortions in the Midwest. These people are faced with the Undue Burden of navigating hostile abortion restrictions because of where they live. At the same time, learn about “Jane”, the pre-Roe, abortion facilitators who assisted 11,000 people in getting the abortions they needed starting in 1969. We’ll follow up the screening with an interview with filmmaker @andrea_raby as well as hear an update from the Red River Women’s Clinic director, Tammi Kromenaker, about how abortion access has been impacted by COVID-19.
